How Crane Family Vineyards Increased Holiday E-Commerce Sales by 81.5%
Year-Over-Year
Year-Over-Year
At Left Coast Marketing, we believe growth happens when brand, strategy, and execution align.
Crane Family Vineyards already had exceptional wine and a loyal club membership. What they didn’t have was a structured digital marketing system to drive consistent online revenue outside of club shipments.
In just a few months, that changed — resulting in an 81.5% year-over-year increase in holiday e-commerce sales.
If you’re ready to strengthen your digital presence and drive real online sales, we’re ready to build the strategy with you

The Challenge
When Crane partnered with us in November 2025, their digital marketing was minimal and reactive.
They were sending necessary transactional emails, but there were no intentional promotional campaigns driving additional purchases. Social media accounts existed, but they weren’t being actively managed or leveraged for growth.
Key gaps included:
- No structured email marketing outside of club notifications
- No strategy to drive off-cycle purchases
- Inconsistent social media presence
- No professional content library
- No clear revenue tracking tied to campaigns
The product was strong. The digital sales engine wasn’t built yet.
Primary Goal: Increase online sales through email marketing while strengthening brand visibility.
Our Strategy
We built a clean, revenue-first ecosystem centered around four pillars.
1. Website Foundation
Before scaling traffic, we ensured the website was conversion-ready. Crane completed a full redesign with our team to improve user experience, mobile functionality, and purchase flow clarity.
Driving traffic only works if the site converts. Now it does.
2. Professional Content Creation
Crane didn’t have a strong visual content library prior to working with us. In the wine industry, storytelling drives sales — and visuals drive storytelling. We implemented monthly professional photography sessions to create:
- Seasonal lifestyle imagery
- Elevated product visuals
- Branded assets for email and social
- Consistent campaign-ready content
This became the foundation of every marketing effort.
3. Revenue-Driven Email Marketing
Email became the primary sales driver. We launched structured monthly campaigns aligned with seasonal releases, holiday gifting, and product features. Instead of occasional communication, Crane now had consistent, strategic outreach designed to drive urgency and repeat purchases. We also integrated Mailchimp Revenue Tracking, allowing Crane to see:
- Which products were purchased from each email
- How much revenue each campaign generated
- Buying behavior beyond just featured items
For the first time, performance was measurable in real revenue terms.
4. Consistent Social Media Support
Social media became the amplifier. With new visuals each month and a consistent posting schedule, engagement increased almost immediately. Instagram and Facebook reinforced email messaging, strengthened brand awareness, and kept Crane top of mind between campaigns. Email converted. Social supported.
The Results
The biggest impact showed during the holiday season.
November Performance
- 2024 Sales: $9,226
- 2025 Sales: $15,876
- +72% increase (+$6,650)
November alone generated over $6,600 in additional revenue compared to the prior year.
December 1–17 Performance
- 2024 Sales: $3,927
- 2025 Sales: $7,997
- +103.6% increase (+$4,070)
In just 17 days, sales more than doubled year-over-year.
Combined Holiday Growth
- 2024 Total (Nov + Dec 1–17): $13,153
- 2025 Total: $23,873
- Total Lift: +$10,720
- Overall Growth: +81.5%
For a boutique winery, this level of increase is significant — and sustainable.
Why It Worked
This wasn’t about one isolated tactic. It was about alignment.
- A conversion-ready website
- High-quality visual storytelling
- Structured, revenue-focused email campaigns
- Consistent social media engagement
- Clear tracking and reporting
Crane didn’t need more customers. They needed better engagement with the customers they already had.
When strategy meets execution, growth follows.
What This Means for Other Wineries
Crane is a small, hands-on winery — and their results prove something important: you don’t need a massive marketing team to generate meaningful digital revenue.
For boutique wineries looking to grow e-commerce sales, we recommend:
- Prioritize email marketing as your primary sales channel
- Support it with consistent social media presence
- Invest in professional content creation
- Ensure your website is built for conversion
- Track revenue, not just engagement
This integrated approach creates measurable, scalable growth.
